Teacher Vs. Technology, Who wins?

Melona E. Matilla  BEED 3A  Prof. Mark Anthony Alavata The education system is constantly changing, and I recognize that as a future educator, I must also adapt to the demands of 21st-century learners. The current role of a teacher is no longer to deliver information, but to encourage students to think creatively and be adaptable.' The traditional methods of rote memorization, rigid discipline, and one-size-fits-all teaching have been ineffective in today's diverse and technology-rich classrooms. Why? The ideal form of education is dynamic, interactive, and student-centered. I believe I possess some of the traits of a modern teacher- being flexible, collaborative, energetic, or open to exploring new technology in learning. In addition to these qualities, I must constantly explore new methods of teaching, improve my ability to make learning more engaging and effective in delivering what I teach, and cultivate the kind of emotional intelligence that connects with students. Why Lesson Plans Matter: Thoughts from a Future Teacher

Matilla , Melona E.      BEED 3A Prof. Mark Anthony Alavata After listening to a discussion on how much lesson plans are important in teaching, I have come to realize that lesson plans do play a big role in a successful teaching. A good lesson plan is a guide that helps the teacher and students stay on track, making learning much structured and, honestly, a lot more interesting. Lesson plans allow me to prepare for the unexpected. Every class is different and represents students from a range of backgrounds; learning styles, therefore, varies and planning ahead helps me think about how best to make the class inclusive and effective for everybody. Lastly, ...

Reflection in EED 14

Melona E. Matilla      BEED 3A Prof. Mark Anthony Alavata Assignment:  In last session, I gained a deeper understanding of the value of critical thinking and self-reflection. The ability to step back and evaluate not just the information presented, but the broader implications, was reinforced throughout the lesson. Beyond the facts or the lessons on a particular subject, the experience emphasized the importance of continually asking "Why?" and "How does this apply to my life?" It is not just about accumulating knowledge but developing the skills to discern, filter, and critically analyze that information. This kind of reflective practice ensures that learning goes beyond the classroom and integrates into my everyday experience. Moving forward, I plan to apply this reflective practice in both my academic and personal life. In academics, it will help me engage more actively with the materials, asking questions that challenge me to think more deeply about the relevance...
